What is your personal productivity? Do you walk your talk? Are you doing the best you can to be your best self?
Three pretty simple questions. But they bring to the surface the fact that only YOU can set your priorities to manage your life and positively influence the life of those around you. After all, in order to influence others as a mother, father, boss, friend etc., you have to influence yourself first.
If your answer to any of these questions isn’t what you would like it to be – what is holding you back and how can you have your best life? You won’t be able to make changes like this over night. It will take time to do this soul searching. And to help you along in this journey, you need your own personal time management system to take care of your body, mind and spirit.
Make Taking Care of Your Body a Priority
Taking care of your body needs to be a central part of your personal time management system. How you treat your body today will directly impact how it will be in ten, twenty etc. years. Without a healthy BODY you are not going anywhere. In short, your body will not support achieving other goals if you neglect to incorporate good habits as part of your life plan.
For example, your body will be pretty healthy by balancing your life with good habits like:
- Healthy Food
- Exercise (stretching, cardio, core)
- Sleep
- Enough water
- And a Positive Attitude
These are some things that eventually come out of neglecting the body. You may get headaches, need to use a cane, a walker etc…, You can ignore the messages we get from the body- this hurts, this is sore, I’m tired etc…, The head thinks it is so smart and ignores the body’s request for rest, sleep, exercise, good food, water etc…
Basically you have to pay up. So, think about how can you incorporate health into your life, you will feel good by listening to your body. Some examples of healthy choices to increase your personal productivity:
- Set aside time to make your food at home for the next day instead of having fast food, that has preservatives and who know how much salt and sugar in it
- Find a class of exercise you like or do something you like that moves you
- Get into bed earlier- sleep
- Drink more water
- Practice being positive
Don’t get overwhelmed by this list. Take it one step at a time. Start a little change towards healthy body habit now and add a little more each day. Whatever helps you to feel healthy add to your daily schedule. Put it on your calendar. Develop your own personal time management system.
